Best of my 2020!

2020, even though it was expected to be a phenomenal year, began with a high note with the whole world looking at China with anxious eyes. Reports have been coming out about the contagious disease- COVID 19. My home state Kerala reported the first case of infection on January 30, 2020, where a medical student who arrived from Wuhan province, China, was tested positive. People were scared out of their wits. But as it is a faraway place, everyone expected it to remain contained in China and the adjacent countries. Regular days crawled on.

By around March, the whole world started to panic. Indian Govt announced Lockdown for 21 days on March 23 2020. The period was unlike anything that has ever materialised in an average adults life. The police force worked hard to impose restrictions in infected clusters and localities. Population in different parts of the world were confined to home with shops functioning in restricted timing and social distancing. All occasions of social contacts came to a staggering stop. It was a test of mental grith for the whole of the population.

The New Year 2021 hopefully is better than the woes of last year. Hopes about Vaccines, reopened air travels, recovering economies and importantly, renewed human contacts. It has materialised in human minds that the many things we have taken for granted have been luxuries. Hopefully, we all will be more appreciative of the tiny and large states of happiness in our lives.
